We had a great Halloween weekend over here and hope you did too. There’s plenty of time to recuperate before the two shows we have coming up in November. Check out Carlos’ new solo layout on the 20th, where he juggles guitars with keys, percussion, a laptop and lots of live loops. Then head over to Tiger Bar on the 26th for a friend-filled, fun-filled night with Sally Tomato. Hope to see you out there.

Toy Room Thursday and Ipon hits East Coast

Seasons are changing, the world axis is shifting noticeably (it is bold as love), and music, laughter, the sound of political chatter and mayhem fill the air. On the “Ipon!” front, the film short (by Los Moustachios, music by Carlos and Sally) has been getting some attention this week. We got some pictures of Luis and Shannon down in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, checking out its first festival appearance. Ipon! and Toy Room screenings coming up

There are some screenings of “Ipon!” and “Toy Room” coming up within the next few weeks. We caught up with Sally to ask how he felt about all of this activity in the film industry lately, and she replied, “Eat my corn, I’ve grown too much”.

So thanks for your continued support in getting the word out and we hope to see you at the Portland events. We can’t make it down to Ft. Lauderdale for the screening of the animation piece “Ipon!” but Luis and Shannon Marcelin will be down there representing. So to our South East fans, you should swing by Cinema Paradiso and say hi to Carlos’ brother and sister in-law!

Sally Tomato Summer Fun

The much anticipated rock opera film “Toy Room” by Sally Tomato is being released in July (7/20) and premiering at Clinton Street Theater in August (8/12).
Sally Tomato CORDIALLY INVITES YOU to be part of her street campaign to help get the word out. The idea here is, if you live in Portland and can devote about an hour of two of your time to put up some posters and handbills around your neighborhood, you can help us promote these 2 events – and we’ll be throwing you a Street Team Party (8/1) where you will have fun and get yourself a free copy of the DVD while you’re at it. We’ll also be recording you all as a chorus for a song on a future album.
